Description
Armadillo Gaming is a physical and digital product: modular solid-wood gaming tables with their own electronics. Place NFC-tagged figures on the table and it recognizes the game and sets the mood with lights and music. Players control it from an app and keep track of their games.
The table also has an AI coach that teaches games step by step and answers rules questions out loud, citing the rulebook section each answer comes from.
Role
I'm the founder. I coordinate the team that designs the tables, builds their electronics and crafts them, and I lead the architecture and development of all the software: device firmware, the IoT platform on AWS, the backend, the apps and the AI coach.
Results
- An end-to-end IoT platform, with a versioned messaging contract between devices and the cloud.
- Signed over-the-air firmware updates with automatic rollback if anything fails.
- An AI coach that answers with verifiable citations and says "I don't know" when the rulebook doesn't cover the question.
- Infrastructure as code, CI/CD with no long-lived credentials, and spec-driven development with AI agents.
